Another new disease found in China; a fever, mouth sores and rashes with blister which caused by virus EV71. As mention in Quennsland Goverment site Enterovirus 71 (EV71) neurological disease is a rare but serious complication of infection with
Enterovirus 71, a virus which can also cause hand, foot and mouth disease. This cases are rare and mainly occur in children; the virus infected children under 2 years old. It usually starts with a slight fever followed by blisters or ulcers in the mouth and on the hands and feet. However, in a small number of children it may cause high fever, meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain), encephalitis (inflammation of the
brain itself), and paralysis. As a parents and especially as a tourism destination, this destructive effect should make us aware of this virus spreads among us.

Eventhough, The Health Minister of Indonesia “Siti Fadilah Supari” said that enterovirus 71 or EV71 currently spreading in China had not yet posed a serious threat to Indonesia. “I haven’t received any reports of EV-71 cases, so I assume there’s no such infection here,” she said. She added there were three patients currently being treated at the Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital for suspected infection of the virus. Ev71 is usually spread by respiratory droplets, through contact with the
fluid in the blisters or contact with infected faeces. The virus may continue to be excreted in the faeces for many weeks. Good hygiene is the single most effective way of preventing the spread of the disease. Hands should be washed thoroughly in soap and water for at least 15 seconds and then dried thoroughly. It is important to wash hands AFTER going to the toilet, touching soiled linen or articles and before preparing or eating food. Teach children to wash their hands effectively before eating or drinking and after going to the toilet.

Let’s keep Bali safe from Ev71. Bali’s tourism, just started to breath again; we do not to get collapes again, aren’t we? So, make It as our homework to prevent the Ev71 spreads in Bali.
