Before presenting the houses to the customers, surely we have to be acquiring how the houses are. Thus, we planned to have a look into the villas and learnt all the things and confidently presented to the clients. Once, we were arranged to have a site inspection to our some villas in Ubud area, one tourism area in Bali still having conventionality and traditionalism.

There were some villas we’d loved to look at. Each house has its own sphere. We decided to step into the first Villa Umah Cagaan. There was guest in this villa at the time we went, but we were allowed to get in and saw the villa inside. Positioned in the outskirt of Ubud village, this villa has a special thing. The garden created in such a way furnished with impermanent small rice field in it, made the guest as if they were in a rice field set up. It was totally sophisticated.

Seeing the Umah Cagaan, we became more curious on other Ubud Villas. We moved onto Villa Ahn, the three bedroom villa with its specialty. This villa was said to be good to be used as a place to relaxing and meditation. Having a vast garden, this villa could be used for wedding, totally overwhelming.
Ahn could not make us stopped; we have another three villas of Villa Vajra, Villa Bayad and Villa Umah Luwung. Unfortunately, Bayad Villa is still having guests so that we could only have a look from outside of the villa. However, we believed that this villa was as tremendous as the others. Going onto Villa Vajra, we were surprising by the massive opened living room. The high distance of the floor to the roof created a sense that this living room was so huge – a perfect house for soothing.

Finally, we end up our journey on Villa Umah Luwung, this villa has 5 bedroom with its special tropical forest view. Each bedroom has a downstairs access of vacant room could be made use of extra bed room. Thus this house could be able to accommodate around 13 people.

All those villas were showing their own characters – one with magnificent exterior, another with the classy interior – attracting many travelers to step in.

Christmas holiday and new year will come soon, many peoples will use this opportunity to have vacation with their family or relatives. Bali is a favorite place for vacation, would be much visited by the tourists.

Global economic crisis may have held back massive investment plan to build Lombok into a world class holiday destination on its own and cut away any dependencies to its more popular sister island of Bali. But its charm remains an attractive magnet to holiday makers seeking for sea, sand, and sun and get a bit bored with what Bali has to offer.

In our last business trip to Lombok a few days back we found that flights between Bali and Lombok are almost full. The small airport of Mataram is quite busy. During the night we spent in Senggigi, the most popular beach resort town in Lombok, we saw a lot of tourists around. We even rejected by a restaurant because whilst there was still a few tables empty, they thought they would not be able to serve as in reasonable speed.

Our trip to the Gilis strengthen our impression. The public boat taking people for a short 30 minutes trip to the islands were easily filled up. When we got to the island we saw it rather busy with a lot of tourists – mostly white – scattering around. Hotel operators and restaurant owners told us that their days are normally even busier.

As we inspected a number of Lombok villas, the main purpose of our trip, we also seeing the same pictures. We even have to reschedule our inspection until guests went away to the beach or something, just because they are fully occupied. Similar situation also applies in domestic market. We went to downtown Mataram and found out that traditional restaurants, motels, malls, even street side stalls were busy.

With all those frames portrayed the current situation, when the investment postponed, I can imagine how Lombok will grow when the investment plan resumed. I am not an economist myself, but everybody knows that the global economic crisis has gone away, and massive investments will flood in in just a matter of days. Will Bali loose or benefit from this?
