On 16th June 2007, the Bali Art Festival will be held again.It’s a annual celebration in Bali, where artist meets the audience, painters meets the collector, and the seller meets the buyers.

Behind the glamor on the opening ceremony, the art festival itself is monotonous. The art itself drawn in the hundreds of street vendor. Most of visitor come with many reasons, they prefer to have the window shopping than watch the art performance. Even though they offer higher price for the art product / souvenir, than the regular price outside the art festival. However, you don’t have to worry, they open for negotiation. So, bargaining is a must.

Tips for the bargain hunters :

“Start your hunt 2-3 days before the closing date, and bargaining is a must”

The other advantage is you will find the different side of the art product (ex. Bali sarongs / batik). You can see the Bali sarongs from Singaraja region, Tabanan, Gianyar, Badung, etc.

I hope that, the organizer will improve the quality of art festival. Not only, rent the area to the vendor which is not related to the art.

My suggestion is, we should give a space for the artist to show their skill in front of the visitors. They also can give, small demonstration and short training for the visitor, especially for the foreign tourist.
